Rainbow Honey!

So I did some looking around and discovered that Rainbow Honey, an indie nail polish company, now offers subscriptions bags. You have your choice between a ten dollar mini sampler pack or their twenty-five dollar pack. These are also available as a stand-alone one time purchase if you don't feel you can commit to a monthly thing.

I decided to test the waters and ordered their April and May mini packs since I had a lovely 25% off coupon code from Ipsy. I've never been much of a nail person but I've been really bored and feeling a LOT more girlish than I normally do and decided to turn over a new leaf and start playing around with make-ups and polishes and things of that nature. Why not?

I got my order late last week and took photos to share and everything! I even have some opinions on most of the things they sent. How exciting, right? Let's get to the fun part! The photos:

The adorable wrappings!

Here are the polishes from April's Mystery Bag.

Stellar Treat: Colorful glitter with teensy little stars! SO CUTE!

Cameo 18: Hot neon pink (duh, I know)

A sample of a new eyeshadow line they are possibly debuting this summer.

How it looks on my pasty white skin

And it is in the color Sparkling Agave. (Again, duh, I know)

They also gave me a lovely lip balm and a sample of their roll-on perfume.

And May's Mystery bag.

Waves: A lovely aqua-green shimmer

Petit Four: Sort of a creamy base that looks like it has sprinkles. .

Neon Blossom: light glitter full of pink and yellow flowers and pink hearts.

A sample of a sugar scrub in the scent Sakura Matsuri. Mmm.

Also in May's bag, which I didn't mention specifically in the pictures, was the other sample fragrance and soap they gave me in the scent "Summer Juice", which is delicious smelling. Sort of sweet, sort of fruity. My mother thinks it smells like strawberries. I think it smells more like orange juice. Either way, it's a total win for me. The only thing I didn't care for about the soap is that it is full of glitter and it has sodium laureth sulfate which I am mildly allergic to. Boo! They also sent a stick of their cuticle oil in "Nail Honey", which they happen to currently be sold out of, so I think I am probably a lucky girl for getting one!

I haven't tried the shadow on my eyes yet, but I plan to in the not too distant future when I decide to have a play day with my face. The face scrub is nice. Pleasant cherry blossom scent and it is a gentle scrub. I've used it twice so far and both times it's left my skin soft and clean. I would definitely have an interest in buying some if they do add it to their shop.

The polishes are all cute and I am pretty happy with the colors and glitters they sent. I think Petit Four is my favorite because it's so different than anything else I currently own. It's going to be perfect on my toes this summer!

The base coat cracks me up, and if you don't know why, you just aren't nerdy enough. Google the name of it and you should have your answer. Best base coat EVER!

I did do test swatches of Stellar Treat and Neon Blossom. Both are adorable but Neon Blossom won the hearts of anyone who saw my nails. I haven't taken a pic. Sorry, but take my word for it, they are both worth having!

I haven't tried the other two out yet so I can't report on them other than I like the way they look in the bottle. *shrug*

The fine folks at RH also threw in a bunch of shadow applicators (you can never have too many) and some little golden nail doo-dads. I will more than likely pass those on to a friend who does nail art or just messes around with that stuff at home. It's not my jam. Or maybe eventually I'll do some sort of a give-away down the line and include them. We'll see what happens.

Overall, I'm glad that I checked them out and I am going to subscribe to their 25 a month service. I have tasted the Rainbow Honey and it's too delicious to not have more! Be sure to check them out. Rainbow Honey!

  1. Awesome! I really don't deal with nails at all. They end up being such an insignificant part of a photo. I mean unless that's the persons "thing", in which case they come to the shoot with them there nails done did. But those are great mystery bags and looks like a good service!

  2. See, if I could get just the nail do-dads, I'd be all over that subscription. lol. Though, it intrigues me. I may have to sign up or get a few one time packs.

  3. Yeah nails aren't usually much of a photo thing, unless you're a hand model or something like that. I could see where it would lack importance there. I think mostly it's just a fun/pretty thing ladies (and some men) like to do just because. They included nail do-dads in both mystery bags for me, so I would assume they would do the same for you! (unless they ran out?) I could always just send mine over your way since I know I won't use them. I can just see me know either clumsily accidentally breaking them off a nail, somehow or tearing them off in frustration after I snagged them on something. I am the least graceful woman that probably ever lived.
