Splendies for July: The Red, The White, The Blue!!

Splendies is seriously one of my favorite boxes right now. Well, not so much a box, but surprise mail. They are almost always cute and sometimes even comfortable. Want to get them for yourself? Use my referral link and be sure to mention my name (Heather Clark) when they ask who referred you. You can get 4 dollars off your first month with the code: SPLENDIES. 8 dollars for three cute pairs? HELL YES!!!

These are soooo cute. I love polka dots AND red so I get the best of both worlds here!
Eh. This is not so friendly on the sensitive scar tissue of my midline at the moment. I may appreciate these more once the scar is older. Right now, it sort of bites into me and hurts.

These are absolutely my favorite. I love the ivory panel and the cute bow with the little charm hanging form it. And of course the lace detail.

I look forward to seeing what new pair I'm going to get every month. If you guys subscribe let me know what you get too!

Grazebox for Independence!

I've actually had this box for a number of days already but I usually like to take my time and try everything out before I make my post so that I can review it at the same time I'm sharing what I actually received rather than just going on blind assumption that something will taste good or bad. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I want to make sure I properly represent this box.

Makes sense, right? Well, to start off, this time around the box goes from sensible, natural brown to a very cute red, white, and blue print for the 4th of July. How festive! I loved seeing the change. So cheerful and fun!

And here is what came inside. Fruity Mango Chutney with black pepper dippers. Lightly Toasted Pistachios. Scrumptious Blueberry Swirl and Salted Fudge & Peanut Cookie.

I was the MOST excited about this flavor. As delicious as it SOUNDS it really wasn't that awesome. *sad face* The nuts tasted a little south of stale... they were on that weird soft-side where it felt they had sat out in humidity post-roasting and then sat around in a warehouse too long. The vanilla fudge was sort of hard. Tiny little hard blocks. I had also been under the assumption that the cookies would have been peanut butter cookies, but silly me, they were chocolate. That is not a complaint, just not what I would have gone by with the name. But you can see in the package and ON the package they are chocolate. I give this an "Eh."

Next thing I tried was the mango chutney. I did not care for this. Now the little cracker-stick things were great! But I am not a chutney girl. I just have never cared for it. It's like you take three questionable things and mix them together for what I would liken to spicy piss-jelly. Mango usually tastes rotten to start with. I don't mean it tastes bad, I mean in nature it just tastes like something that is 2 days away from fermentation. Vinegar is always very yes or very no for me. And then you add hot pepper flakes for that perfect what-in-the-actual-yuck factor. Never again, thanks.

This next one was delicious. How could they not be? It's pistachios. The perfect snack, in my opinion.

Last up we have the Scrumptious Blueberry Swirl which was blueberry yogurt covered raisins, raspberry flavored cranberries and black currants. I decided to save this one for breakfast instead of having it as a snack. It worked out pretty well, though I think if I ever get this one in a box in the future I will just savor the raisins on their own. They lost something inside my yogurt. The following pictures is basically just a tease of my delicious breakfast.

Chobani Simply Vanilla and Raw Ohio Honey. Mmmmm/

Add scrums

Honey

Mix and enjoy! So good!

This box was a little hit or miss for me. I hope the next two boxes REALLY blow my mind.

Oh! And if you guys would like to try it for yourself... enter the code you see below. You'll get your first and your fifth box for FREE!!

Cult Cosmetics Blackbox

Recently I caught wind that Cult Cosmetics had a promotion to pick up one of their Blackboxes for a penny (not including the five bucks for shipping...), so I decided to jump on it for the cute holo-glitter "Hollywood Forever". Spring Fling is the name of the box, in case you were interested and I am pretty sure the code penny522 still works at this time.

They do have other boxes that offer other polishes and products so be certain to browse and see if it might be something you're interested in picking up. I've recently found myself on a sort of polish bender (that's a thing, right?) because my nails are growing great for the first time in years. It's a fun little project I kind of stick under the topic of art. It's color. It's paint. Nail are a medium, too, ya know?

Anyhow, here is what came in the box. For $5.01, it wasn't a bad deal. I decided not to stick with the monthly box because frankly 20 bucks a month of polish is best redirected at 20 bucks a month on horror. I have priorities, people.

Feel free to use the code for free ship if you don't use the penny promo

It smells like stinky vinyl.

Pretty nice quality for free brushes.

Hollywood Forever on the left and Belmont Shore on the right.

A shadow crayon. Pretty, too.

Normally wouldn't swatch so large but I accidentally broke the tip off when I opened it. D'oh!
A decal.
It was a nice box for five bucks. I will purchase from them again in the future. I'm actually sort of really interested in Coachella, but it shall wait for another day.

Wantables Accessories June 2014

As a nice gift, my boyfriend purchased me a one-time accessories box from Wantable. It landed in my mailbox this morning and I had to force myself to wait until I finished my laundry to open it up. It was torture!

When I opened it I saw a lovely velvet envelope with the Wantable name logo printed on it. Inside I found a pair of earrings, a necklace, and a watch!

The description in the paper says this:

The Rosie Earrings - features distressed gold tone surrounding spikes of pale bubblegum pink

The Sam Necklace - a gorgeous iridescent necklace features 5 beautiful stones.

The Shelby Watch - features a round, rhinestone accented face with a mother-of-pearl inspired wristband.

I have to say I really like all three pieces. My only gripe is the metal on the necklace is kind of cheap and brassy looking. The stones are pretty, though. The weight is good on both the necklace and the earrings. They all look really great together. I am pleased. What do you guys think? Check out the pics!

Splendies!

I have lost about 110 pounds (or so) over the last year and we all know when this happens, you always have to get rid of old clothes and you have to get new ones that actually fit your new body. Underwear falls into this category, which people seldom talk about. I have decided rather than just go buy a blah blah pack of Hanes Her Way or whatevs that I would instead join a couple underwear subs.

It adds an element of surprise and fun to something that is usually mundane. With Splendies I get 3 new pairs of undies a month for 14 bucks. That's about $4.60 a pair. My subscription is more pricey than the norm because I add two dollars so I don't get thongs. I LOATHE thong underwear. It's uncomfortable and gross! Normally it's 12 bucks a month and if you add the coupon code SPLENDIES (or VOLUPTIES if you're plus size and you go to the Volupties site) it takes four bucks off your first month.

If you're interested in getting Splendies, just follow this link!

Ok! Let's have a look at what I got this month!

Welcome to my insanity!

Welcome, welcome!

Just a quick entry to state what this is all about and why I'm doing it.

I've just recently joined the world of madness that is subscription boxes. I am definitely excited to the point I might pee my pants and I have decided I will catalog my findings and fun in this blog. This way I can share with everyone my thoughts and opinions on my findings and discoveries and whether or not a particular subscription is worth the cost or not.

So now you know what's about to go down. I hope you're all as excited as I am!
